What's the story?

** Birmingham's FIRST EVER whiskey, our inaugural release, launched at our "Original SoB" Members Launch Party at Birmingham Botanical Gardens on a beautiful summers evening in the Summer of 2025.  Our single cask single malt was released in March 2026. The first of its kind, heritage barley grown at Fir Farm in the Cotswolds and full maturation in virgin Staffordshire oak.

Whiskey needs lots of love and attention and unlike us, it wants to mature. This does not happen overnight. In fact, it takes three years & one day before our newly made spirit can be called "Whiskey".

Don’t worry, you won’t need to wait three years & a day to try our Spirit of Birmingham products. “While we are waiting”, we have a stunning premium 43%ABV English Pot Still Vodka for you to enjoy and our 7.5%ABV signature dark beer will be released in micro-batches throughout the year. Our beer label was designed by Johnny Vacant & is his interpretation of Floodgate Street in Digbeth). 

We could bore you for hours about our plans, but then, what would we have left to drip feed through our socials?  You need to know we can’t sit still for long. So in between whiskey distillations, Vodka runs & beer batches, you might see a limited-edition gin appear here & there… Distilling is hard work & lots of admin, but it’s also fun & we like Gin!  

We would love you to take a punt on us & try our drinks. They’ve been made right here in Birmingham, by hand, with an unreal amount of love, care & attention. All individually numbered too.
